1) You must check your key to ensure the part number is the same SKE126-01, 2006DJ2777 (to check, disassemble your original key down, do it this way if you are replacing the battery and check the number stamped on the remote.)
2) Key Blade: Supplied uncut – must be cut by a locksmith.
3) Door Remote Control (lock / unlock doors):
- DIY programming is possible only if Customer Spare Key Programming is enabled in vehicle and if you already have at least one working remote key.
- If you only have a master key without a remote or Customer Spare Key Programming is disabled, the new key must be programmed by a locksmith.
- If your vehicle does not support remote door locking / unlocking, programming is not possible.
- Instructions for DIY remote programming (lock / unlock doors) are provided below
4) Transponder Chip (for engine start):
- DIY programming is possible only if Customer Spare Key Programming is enabled in vehicle and you have original master key
- If you don't have original master key or Customer Spare Key Programming is disabled, the new key must be programmed by a locksmith
- Instructions for DIY transponder chip programming (engine start) are provided below
The programming process is divided into two parts:
- (a) programming the remote control for locking and unlocking the doors, and
- (b) programming the transponder chip for engine start.
You can use two separate instructions if you have the Customer Spare Key Programming feature enabled. If the feature is disabled or the keys are unable to be programmed, you will need to contact local locksmith for programming using specialized equipment.
a) REMOTE CONTROL PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS (LOCK/UNLOCK DOORS)
Preparatory Steps for Remote Control Programming:
- Make sure you have at least one working remote car key.
Steps to program the remote control:
- 1. Open Driver side door
- 2. Put the Original key in and out of ignition 2 times
- 3. Close and open driver door 2 times
- 4. Put Original Key in and out of ignition once
- 5. Shut and open door twice
- 6. Close door
- 7. Insert key Turn ignition on
- 8. Turn ignition off and remove key
- 9. Door locks will cycle
- 10. Press lock and unlock together for 1 second then lock button
(To delete remotes turn the key on and off 5 times, door locks will cycle 5 times. Turn the key on then off. Open shut door)
- 11. Locks will cycle put key in ignition turn to on then off
- 12. Remove key from ignition, close door and test remote
b) TRANSPONDER CHIP PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS (FOR ENGINE START):
Preparatory Steps for Remote Control Programming:
- Make sure you have original master key. If you don't have, please contact local locksmith.
Steps to program the transponder chip:
- 1. Put Original master key in and out of ignition 5 times. Finish with key in ignition
- 2. Open and shut door 6 times
- 3. Remove original, insert new key
- 4. Leave for 60 seconds (or till Security light goes out on dashboard)
- 5. After 60 seconds security light stops flashing then you can start car.
- 6. Take key out
- 7. Open and shut door
Important Information:
- These are general instructions and may vary depending on your model's configuration.
- In some Mazda vehicles, the Customer Spare Key Programming (CSPK) function may be disabled.
- If the instructions for programming the key yourself do not work, this may be due to CSPK being disabled or the absence of the original master key and working remote key.
- Unfortunately, we cannot check whether this function is enabled in your vehicle.
- In this case, you will need to contact an authorized dealer or a qualified locksmith to program the key.
