Installation Notes:
- Separate the wiring harness connector from the throttle position sensor by pressing in on the tabs of the connector while pulling it apart by hand.
- Remove the throttle position sensor from the throttle body by backing out the two holding screws with a screwdriver in a counter clockwise direction
- Mount new TPS Sensor directly on the throttle body
- Requires basic tools — no reprogramming needed in most vehicles
- Resetting the ECU or clearing codes may be required for some models
Important tips: after installing a new sensor, it is recommended to let the engine idle (so that the ECU calibrates the throttle valve)
Symptoms of a Bad Throttle Position Sensor TPS:
